Currently, this guitar is hanging in a gallery show in Mansfield, Texas. It was strung up the day before, then hung up for the LINT show. The back/sides are of Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle, and the top is a fine piece of Shane's Lutz spruce. All I can say is that these woods really worked well together. If it is possible to form opinions from one day old guitars, then I can recommend these tone woods unreservedly. The sound is rich, complex, and musical. (I hope that makes sense.) It is plenty loud, and quite balanced.

The center stripe in the neck is more Tiger Myrtle, which Tim was kind enough to supply so as to finish out the theme.

exceptional...beautiful styling...everything really comes together. I am sure that the sound is just as good.

JJ, I took a stab at describing the sound in the first paragraph. Perhaps I can add: it's interesting that it sounds like that particular shaped guitar. You know, the way dreads sound like dreads, OM's sound like OM's, etc. I was expecting that "SJ" sound out of this guitar, but I was surprised with the lushness of the sound. This is my first go with TTM as well as Lutz, so I'm not sure just what each is contributing. (And wow, I'd love to hear how it's opening up now, but it's off in Mansfield. ) I've said before that the top is the heart of the system, and I think everyone should get some Lutz and experiment. This is a great topwood.
And the TTM? Pure eye candy, and it makes a wonderfully lightweight guitar as well.

Don, yes, that's nitro. I ran out of time, so it was impossible to mail this one to Tony. It probably does one good to do a finish from time to time. Probably also takes a few months off one's life span...

The Tiger Myrtle really jumps out, but that Lutz top is killer too. Beautiful guitar.

That has turned out fabulously - well worth the William Blake poem I gave you last time. Lovely wood combinations and that headstock is such a lovely complex work of art in itself.

Isn't Shane's wood the dogs doo-dah's? The sound will just get better and better and more and more complex with more playing.

I would sure love to be able to carve a volute like the one you have there! Very beautiful guitar.

Steve, you know what I think of your building, and you haven't let me down have you. Outstanding workmanship as usual.

That TTM has a kind of restrained bling that appeals, especially in the headstock.

If you do get a chance to record something with it, I'd love to hear it.
