This guitar is getting close to being together. If you haven't been around until recently, it was slated for becoming a gift to a prominent guitar guy experiencing some serious health issues. It still is. The guy seems to be doing fine.

Today, I wanted to again float the need for a finisher. Someone volunteered earlier, but for some reason I can no longer reach this individual. So not wanting to slow the progress we are enjoying lately, I'm looking for a volunteer.

Please PM for more info. Thanks to all the guys who have thus far participated in time working, in managing, in sending materials or cash and the two cases which helped get it around.

Dave Rector, yes, this is the one which the red abalone was used for. I might add, it's the nicest pearl I've used to date in the rosette.

If we can't find a single volunteer for finish, I'm thinking of hiring a finisher and opening a fund for participation of OLFers? The idea was for us to do this project personally, but if that isn't possible, I'm for moving it forward in an alternate way.

Your thoughts are welcome, Bruce

Currently the neck is in progress at John Watkins, he recently sent a photo of the MOP letters cut for the neck inlay. Very nice John. You can view those at the #2 project forum.

Maybe Tony would be interested? He is well represented here at the OLF?

I can't finish it, but I'd sure chip in for the fund if you go that route.

I'll talk to the guy who does finishing for me. He may have time to do it with my next batch in about two weeks.

"Hi Lance,

I'd be more than happy to donate a finish on behalf of the OLF group. Just let me know when it is on its way.

Thanks,

Tony"

Thanks Lance. We can do that. PM me Tony's address if you don't mind and I'll have it at a moment's notice. Thanks to Tony from what I've seen his work is impeccable, durable, and oh so pretty.
