There's an interesting article here on harpguitars.net about Kathy Wingert's newly completed first harp guitar that harpie OLF'ers might find interesting.

I get to see Kathy tomorrow at a So Cal guitar player gathering. I'll have to talk to her about this amazing project.

BTW - While she is not active on this forum, she is a wonderful person. Not only is she a talented builder, she has a wonderful voice and plays well also.

No kidding! I got to hear her play and sing a little a few years back, and was I ever amazed. Talking to her, you realize she is a very sweet and intelligent individual with a great personality. Her guitars are spectacular too.

I met Kathy at one of Ervin's Classes. She is a sweat sweat person. She makes beautiful guitars and her daughter is a really talented inlay artist. It would be great to have her around here.

Kathy is one of my favorite builders and people in the world. When I
was first injured and out of commission with my shoulder, she actually
offered to come and stay with me for a period of time to help me keep
building. What a humbling offer to have made by anyone let alone one of
the finest builders on the planet.

The problem was that I was completely disabled and she would have
been forced to do all of the work....then I'd have had to keep building
those beautiful Wingerts that would have come out of my shop while she
was there to keep my customers happy....and there's no one who could
possibly build a Wingert like Kathy Wingert. She's an awesome talent and
equally awesome as a person.

Her harp guitar is nothing short of stunning to look at and I'm sure she
captured her powerful and warm Wingert tone on both ends of it.

It would be very cool of we could get her to pop in to visit us here on
occasion. I'll put a bug in her ear concerning the OLF.

Regards,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars
