I am retiring for the night and thought you guys might be able to identify these mind blowing veneers from Tasmania.

First person to identify both veneers can have a Mugla fretboard to try out and report back to the forum!
Alas the file name does not identify the veneer!

regards

Tim

I don't know, but I see faces and partial torsos in both of those....and the first one looks sort of like an alien.

The first one is one of the crazy counting sheep from the Serta mattress commercials...

The second is old bushy eyebrow... upside-down in your pic. That was a tricky move...

Is the mulga shipping prepaid!

Well Bob has it in the bag. Despite similarities to sheep and bushy things it is ........!!!

Veneer 1 Musk Burl

This is usually found at the base of the tree partially submerged in the ground. Careful drying process are needed to avoid degrade and can take several years if hoping to obtain solid material

Veneer 2 Eucalypt burl

This is a little more user friendly however dryiong again is critical.

Despite this when veneered they are stable and workable. Both piece are about 24" x 6" per side.

Well Bob it looks like you get another mulga fretboard!

regards

Tim
