Now just waiting for delivery of bits. In the meantime I would like some advice on if there is anything I can do about the lifting nitro on the headstock. Close up:

The finish is a polyester. Delaminations like that are quite common over the plastic headstock veneers. You can try wicking some thin CA in under it, sometimes that gives a satisfactory repair sometimes it stays cloudy. It's about a 50/50 from my experience here. A complete refinish of the headstock face is my typical repair.

HELP!!! I need a couple of yards of 6 core 22 awg shielded cable for the run from the Freeway switch to the pots. The Belden part number is 5504FE. I can only find distributors sell 500 or 1000' spools. Can anyone in the US source this?

I'm retired now but let me call the electronics shop where I used to work. They have all kinds of scraps of all sorts of different multi conductor cables.

You can probably wrap a wire around the bundle for the ground shield.
Not many guitars are wired with shielding these days.
Man, that looks like a complicated wiring scheme.
Very good diagram.
I'm eager to know how it works out for you.

I found the cable by the foot in the US and ordered 10' for delivery to friends there (wouldn't ship to Oz). My friends will mail on next week.

Finished!! Thanks to Freemann for the 6 core shielded cable to run from Freeway switch to cavity. Neck and bridge pups are GFS Alnico II. Middle is the GFS Dream 180. All pots are 500k push-pulls in 3V/1T Series/Parallel setup. New stop piece, bridge, machine heads, pickguard bracket, and jack.

Thanks for the tip re the bubble under the poly on the headstock. The CCA worked great!!
