Hello I have been building and repairing stringed instruments since I was eleven and in that time I have never attempted a neck thru before. So now I'm 16 and I finally have enough shrapnel and old notes in my pocket I have decided to give it a shot. So far I have begun to make a 1:1 scale drawing; my problem is that i have forgotten how to find my neck angle needed to give a good action. So i decided to come here to see if i could delve into this vast pit of knowledge and experience. If it helps i also repair old denon,technics,sony and other hi-fi amps and I'm also currently building a 53' Bantam-kawasaki-triumph trials hybrid

Draw the guitar in profile showing the fretboard strings and bridge. All will become clear.

Thanks for the quick reply; i've been looking over my les paul jr uke plans (neck through also) and i think i know how.

Draw the fretboard, strings and body from the side view,
and the bridge at it's highest and lowest setting, then go from there.
You might not even need a neck angle if you work it out right.
So, you are building a 53 foot long motorcycle?

Go to Stewart MacDonald's site if you need the dimensions for the bridge.

Thanks for the stewmac tip Steve; I didn't think to look there for dimensions - also i have noticed your fantastic bike - i have now pretty much finshed my guitar plan - thanks for all the help it's definetley been appreciated
