OK... where can I find some 1/2" mahogany or primavera, maybe 5/8" for laminating on the back of a solid body or hollowbody so I can carve it?

Please don't tell me to buy something thick and resaw it. And forget eBay.

It's the same here in Scotland. I ended up spending a Saturday traveling to an old mill/wood turning place. He allowed me to have a rake through the old stock and stuff where I found an 8ft x8"x2.5" board of 100yo Brazilian mahogany bliss Really you just gotta go ask.
