Look in yours or your neighbor's firewood pile. Anyone who burns maple will have lots of spalted maple in firewood. That is where I get mine from. We have salvaged LOTS of it for free. Get a few chunks, resaw it on your bandsaw, sticker it and a year later you will have lots of rosette wood.
