I was reading the thread on Whole Face Mask and Brad, @meddlingfool, @SteveSmith and others mentioned Honeywell air filtration.
Instead of hijacking the thread, I'm asking here.

Amazon has a Honeywell HPA3100 PowerPlus for Medium/Large Rooms (200 sq. ft.) that's in my budget. and a lot of other choices. What unit are you guys recommending/ using? I have a fairly small shop. Its "L" shaped and the ceiling mounted Jet filter is marginal. I've developed a mild sensitivity to breathing rosewood dust and have a pile of Zircote I'll be using soon

I've never used a HEPA air purifier.

It’s overkill but I like that I can go to the homer depot and get a filter whenever it’s needed.

Edit to add - I clean the pre-filter once a week and haven’t had to replace the hepa filters yet, I just got it last August.

What model is your ceiling Jet filter? The Jet AFS 1000 B I have on the ceiling is very effective with good aftermarket filters from Wynn Environmental. I have a Dylos particle detector so I was able to actually measure how effective it is at removing dust from the air. I posted a couple threads a while back (below) on how it performs. Since you already have a Jet unit on the ceiling, you may be able to get what you are looking for by just upgrading the filters in it. The Wynn internal filter is rated down to 0.5 microns. The Honeywell unit Brad linked to filters down to 0.3 microns so its filtration is slightly better.

Here’s mine, just a cheap little guy but helps a lot. In future I’ll be looking to employ bigger dust filters with the Wynn filters mentioned…

Sorry I was misleading, I also have the Jet AFS 1000 on the ceiling but with the Wynn Environmental filters, which I think are HEPA filters? Anyway it works really well in my shop.

I took the same steps as Jay with my Jet AFS1000 and got the Dylos meter. Very happy with the results. HEPA standard is a bit stiffer than what the Wynn filters provide, but not by much. My shop is 200 sq ft, so according to the Dylos, I achieve HEPA-like air quality in a few minutes.

Bill Pentz has a web site with a lot of good info on filtering and how to use the Dylos for fine particle detection.

Thank you for that excellent question. It's a stock JET outer filter for AF 1000B....

I went to the basement to get that information and as I climbed the ladder, it hit me (hard) that I had forgotten to ever check/ change that filter. It was very very dirty and waaaay over due to be changed. I actually had a new filter, stored on top of the unit, and its installed. I'm pretty disgusted at me self, I actually don't remember EVER replacing it. If I was my dad, I would deserve a good lecture...

It blows like a banshee now, thank you for asking about it And I should definitely have worn a dust mask.
