Hey all, this is the 2nd guitar from the batch of 5 I just completed. Enjoy!

Bubinga Back & Sides
Curly/Swirly Redwood Top
Flame Maple Binding
Spalted Tamarind Details
Granadillo/Maple Fretboard
Hondo Mahogany Neck

This one is a bit more flash than sound. I overbraced the hell out of it because i was concerned with the integrity of the top. I had to go in at the end and shave the braces down quite a bit. It does sound better after doing that.

That spalted wood purfling is awesome! What is the bridge made of?

It’s a beauty. I like all the different contrasting woods.

Just straight grain hard maple (leftover from the neck of my previous guitar post)

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
