I am trying to find a provider of classical guitar templates. I can find printed plans but I want an actual acrylic or paper template I can trace around and layout bracing, soundhole from. Furthermore what I am really looking for is such a template for a Fleta build. I have ordered the Roy Courtnall book Making Master Guitars and I know there is a scaled-down Fleta plan in there.

There is a full scale plan for a Fleta included in the books by Trevor Gore, as well as a detailed description of how to build one.

You can get a PDF and give then to a print shop, or get them printed and mailed to you.
Get 2 copies made, cut out and stick one something and make your own template, keep the other for reference.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
