It doesn’t matter how big your shop is. You will grow to fill it and then want a bigger shop. I designed what I thought was the perfect shop (450 sq. ft.—the only perceived imperfection was the 8’ ceiling). Within 2 years, it was too small. I did purposely place things so that I would have to walk to my tools. Motion is good and prevents aches later. And my personal ethic requires that I replace the tool as soon as I am done with it. So, having the storage a couple of steps from the surface works well for me.
