That's pretty cool. He has an older video showing that method used on an electric guitar body.

It's interesting that the "how to" video he posted a few years ago was taken down by Youtube for "violating YouTube's Community Guidelines". I'm guessing that was due to risks of using the method. He has a website devoted to this method which includes this disclaimer: "These machines are very dangerous and potentially deadly if you make a mistake when using them. I do not recommend that anyone do this due to the danger involved." Still, it looks like it would be a lot of fun to do.

Here is a video on making the apparatus. He emphasizes safety, which is a good thing when working with high voltage. He explains the process better than the first video. If someone decides to try this they should also review videos on how to safely disassemble microwaves.

You can also get a really amazing tooth mark pattern, on a slab of wood, by holding it inside a box filled with rattlesnakes. The rattlesnake box is a lot safer than the contraption that they built. Look Ma! No gloves.

That is the really dangerous part of this method. The wrath of your spouse when the microwave has been destroyed.

What about using a stick welder rather than a microwave oven transformer? You can buy a cheap one on ebay...

Wow that is cool I had seen stuff like that at craft shows before but had no idea how it was done.
