Hi Woodie, some years ago the Boss found and shared a link to a company, Biologix for micro pipettes. I bought them back then and have now gone through nearly all of them and it's time to resupply.

I did use the search feature to try to help myself and found this reference http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=31797&p=419874&hilit=micropipette#p419874

Knowing as I do that you fine folks are likely the best source of sourcing information in the trade is this still a valid source or do you now get them in bulk elsewhere and if so where, please? I'm getting no where at the company and on Amazon.

Many thanks and Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas.

Hesh, the last time Woody brought this up I bought what (I think) was recommended:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G6 ... UTF8&psc=1

Does that help?

Brad

Actually, I found the thread. viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=48230&p=637174&hilit=Globe+Scientific#p637174

As a bonus, the Amazon comments say these are great for essential oils. So you'll get your aroma therapy covered as well. It's a win-win!

You can get pipettes from China on eBay for practically free with free shipping. If you heat the tip a bit, grab it with a pair of pliers and stretch it out, you get a very fine tip.

But you probably knew that :D

Thanks Brad and everyone else and Woodie and the Boss for the original information. Just ordered 1,000 with the very fine tip that Dave likes and wants.

PS: Put some household 3 in one oil in one and make a holder. Great for putting a bit on bridge screws, tuner contact points, etc. on corroded instruments as you work on them. I usually do this early on so it has some time to penetrate before I get to the last thing that I do with set-ups, intonation and action at the bridge on electrics. 3 in 1 oil is a bit thick but if you go away for ten minutes it will draw a goodly amount up even with the micro tip.

Thanks again everyone.

The longer tip pipettes are more functional than the shorter pipettes. If the tip hardens, chop off with single edge razor and keep going.

That's what I do, Danny, but the tips of one's that Dave and Hesh use are stiff, and much easier to get pin point accuracy. I've been trying to find them from a Canadian source, but no luck.

Please excuse my tardy response - I plead the holiday rush, a sprained ankle, and a pressing fashion crisis. Fortunately, I as able to source a festive Christmas-themed decoration package for my walking boot, which resolved one of my three most pressing concerns. Also, thanks so much to those that did the drudge work of hunting through my past postings for the information on the pipettes and passed it on to Mr. Breakstone - it is very much appreciated.

I pulled up the shop account and it appears as though the price and availability of the fine tip pipettes remains unchanged from our most recent order:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HK4YECS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A29JIFH4ZXPNL8&psc=1

Again, thanks!

Only because I fully expect those of you in similar situations to reciprocate, here's some boot/soft cast decorating ideas...
