So i decided to start with a full scale drawing, and this is what i came up with

Any suggestions on what parts to use, anything i should change, etc?

I like it!
If you are going with a top glued to the body, I'd make a longish neck tenon.
The neck pocket looks small.

He means where you have a main body and a thin piece glued on top. This is sometimes called a drop-top. This allows you to do a few things differently, like put a wiring channel in the body and cover it with the top, or extend the neck tenon further into the body.

Also, the rule of thumb for a bolt-on neck is to have the pocket 3" long.

On a Les Paul it is a little over 3". If you butt the pickup right up to the end of the fingerboard you can extend it under the pickup to the far edge.

Corvettemaster, before you do anything else get Melvyn Hiscock's book on building an electric guitar. He has one entire chapter on doing the design. It will be very important to get the angle of the neck correct with respect to the height of the bridge and the pickups. In addition you need to get the scale length correct - that sets the location of the neck, bridge and pups. Hiscock details the construction of three different instruments - a set neck carved top (like a LP, but different), a flat topped bolt on neck (Tele) and a thru neck (bass, but the ideas are the same for a guitar).

He has a great chapter on tools, another on finish and yet another on electronics. Get the book and keep in by your side as you build.

Doing your own design is great but you might also want to get ahold of plans for a similar instrument. That would answer questions about the neck pocket, internal routing for wires (I forgot the channel for the ground wire to the ToM on my Lester - it was tricky to add after the guitar was finished).

There are a lot of good build threads on the internet (they discourage long detailed step by step builds here at OLF) and some of them are worth reading thru. You'll see where the builder had problems and some of the methods he used. FWIW, here was my first electric build - other than the shape there is a lot in common with what you are doing
