 Post subject: The lutherie business

Hey, everyone. Its been a while since I posted here. If you remember, I was going to build a san dimas style guitar and was about to post pics of my materials but then I just didn't post anymore. Well, I got side tracked and now I've got some time on my hands to get the project rolling.

Anyway, I have a question for some of the people on here who might own their own lutherie business, make a living off of lutherie, or just do it as a side business. I think this is something I would love to get into as a business. I'm not experienced enough yet ofcourse I'm just kind of looking ahead. Can anyone chime in with any advice or information about starting a guitar building business? Could one make a decent profit from it? Is it more like side thing? Or is it completely a hobby for most? I live close to Nashville where there are plenty of guitarists who might pay good money for a quality custom instrument. Thanks in advance. I'll post pics of my materials immediately and of my progress once my first build gets underway.

Thank you. I apologize. Like I said I haven't been back to the forum in a few months. I'll check out that thread.
