Hey everyone,
I posted a thread in the guitar building forum of these guys along with the guitar that I was building these with side by side.
Anyway, this right here is my A-Style Mandolin. Just wanted to share and help keep the mandolin forum going.
These are also the first two instruments I've made that have single piece necks. (no scarf joint/glued on heel blank) I'm quite happy with the necks.

Good job! They look really good. What kind of neck joint did you use?

Love them! The shape is great and it looks like you did a decent job. If you plan on doing many more in the future, I'd consider doing a dovetail or a mortise and tenon for the neck joint. Quite a bit of pressure in that area and it would be nice if someone could fix it if it went all wonky. [:Y:]

How wide are the bodies? How are the tops braced? The fretwire looks like guitar size, what size is it? Can you describe the sound? Did I ask too many questions?

Oh boy, nope, not too many questions. Its an X brace thing. The feet of the bridge fall right on the back ends of the x. I have a picture of the inside of a mandolin from a batch before these two that is braced just like these guys. Ill have to find it. Im not sure what the width is. Ill have to check that too. Its Martin sized fretwire, so typical guitar stuff. They both sound great. the bracing is light towards the back so its got a lot of low end. I have sound clips of previous mandolins. Ill get back to you.
