A guy called me today with a guitar that had thrown a fret(?)
I was amazed to find a Parker Fly with glued on frets (no tang or kerf) 3 of which were lifting and one completely off.
Well Ive done a look around on the web and of course this is no surprise.
The guy has had the guitar for a year played it rarely and we live in the Caribbean so i guess he wont be sending it back.
Anyone have any experience fixing this?

I found this comforting note on their website

Frets
Our patented fret and fretboard system consists of hardened stainless steel frets bonded to a glass and carbon fiber fretboard.

The frets may only be serviced at the Parker factory or by a factory authorized repair facility.

Fret service performed otherwise will void the warranty.

cant wait to buy one myself...... wow7-eyes

I had a similar experience with a Martin guitar when I was renting space at Guitar Center. The store had a Martin that threw the bridge off. It was a Micarta bridge on top of one of those Formica top dreadnaights they were making for a while. The store wanted me to fix it, but the epoxy didn't hold it.
Hah.
I asked the Martin rep what to use to glue it, he said just send it back to Martin, the chemicals were to hazardous for me to use and they weren't commercially sellable, you had to be licensed to use them or something.
Probably something similar with those frets.
I'd imagine the chemicals are probably akin to what they use to glue rear view mirrors to windshields? Some kinda wierd harsh extremely toxic chemical mixture that you can't use without a full body protective hazard outfit in a closed environment.

Now THAT'S Luthiery!
