Round 2. Here is a very nice set of Brazilian Rosewood. It is quartersawn, has exceptional color and is lightly figured. It will look great under finish. I went ahead and repaired those two cracks marked in the pic. They were invisibly tight and it was a simple fix. The set is tip top now and you can't see the repair. This set is just large enough for an dreadnaught, but very comfortable for an OM.

Retail value on the set is $900, And... I am going to try to live dangerously again and do this one WITHOUT a reserve.
(Domestic bidders only. Sorry guys, CITES restrictions)

The auction ends tomorrow (SATURDAY) at 3PM EST.

Here is a picture with color adjusted by Picasa. Seems to pick up the gray of the floor, so the wood should look closer to accurate color.

Thanks Waddy.

In person the color is probably closer to my pic. and when you hit it with naptha (to get an idea for what it will look like under finish) it goes dark chocolate brown, with light brown streaks - and that curl pops nice.

Brock, if you are shooting under fluorescent lights, you could get a big improvement by going outside.

does it look like this under naptha or darker? You should buy a tungsten lightbulb. It's gives off the same frequency of light as outdoors, only not as intense. It's a photographers best friend.

A little darker, but yeah, that is on the right path.

Sorry. I will try to get better with the camera. ;)

I'll go $150 and hope everyone else spends the next couple of days criticizing your photography instead of bidding.

Where is BillyT when you need him. He'd have a picture of Hesh weaved in the grain.

Nice plank of wood Brock.

I'll go $375.00

Remember everyone, this ends at 3PM today. I am not sure if I will be around for the end, but we will use the closest time stamp as the official winner. Any bids submitted before 3:01 PM EST are counted.

So far we are at $385

It is. Filippo squared it off at $400 before Brock's post.
