Lance and Brock I understand that you are still busy getting everyone to the party with the new software but I wanted to ask you about the tutorials.

It was said before that my toots may be recoverable and that you would look into it at a later date. I appreciate that - thank you.

But realistically I am thinking that they may not be recoverable and if that is the case I would like to just redo them since I saved the pics from each toot. If you think that it is likely that they are not recoverable just let me know and I will endeavor to recreate them and post them.

Many thanks! :)

Hesh - That is a mighty fine offer! [clap] [clap] [clap] I really get a lot out of your tutes for they are clear and pictoral. Since I am a visual learner, as I would imagine most of us are, I like pictures. :)

Thanks friend!

Hey Jerk :D

I'd say go ahead and do them again, you may even learn something new from them :D

Well.. certainly that would be welcomed ... but speaking with an eye on human bandwidth (yours) and resources (yours again). If we can get them back I would rather see that creative talent put to use on new topics... so maybe we give the tech wiz kids a go at it first. If they come up blank we will very graciously take you up on that. :-)

I bookmarked a few threads. Back joint reinforcements one is still active. Funny thing though, if I do a search for it, it comes up, but without Hesh's part, just the commentary.

http://luthiersforum.3element.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12273&PN=4##178017

Okay, how do I make a link active with the new software?

OK thanks Brock and I will wait and see if they can be recovered. If not I will redo them and get them posted.

Thanks Steve very much for your kind comments.

Sister Lillian thanks for the link - I was able to cut and paste the text and I already have all the pics in one file so that one will be easy to recreate.

Rod - bite me......... :D

I've fixed some more of the links but there's still a few that I can't find.

No, just the first one I posted. The rest came from Bob's page. I used the address that came up 404 and chased them down. There were two that I wasn't able to recover. Well, one come up as one of Bob's tutorials.

Bob, I was looking at some of those Tuts, and wondered if some of them, were links outside of OLF to the poster's website, where the thread was located? Or, maybe you have located all of those, already.

There are a few that are external links Waddy.

I had another lash at finding the others yesterday and I'm probably 80% finished.

Thanks for Shanes links above. I could find one but not the other two.

There's a couple of Paul Woolson's that I'll track down using Lillian's method and re-post with due credit.

I've got a couple which I can't figure out the posters original username but we're getting there. (slowly)

Thanks Waddy.

I think it's all done apart from Hesh's.

I haven't checked the hyperlinks yet but there's sure to be a few stuff ups in there with the amount of cutting and pasting going on.

Lillians detective work has been reaaal handy. I've been going in to the old forum and copying some search criteria from the old post and pasting it into the new search engine.

Let me know if anyone finds any broken hyperlinks on the page.

OLF Tutorial

Cheers

Bob

Bob, for all the links that I posted, I took the address that displayed when the 404 page came up and changed the beginning of the address from
http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum.....
to
http://luthiersforum.3element.com/forum....

If I had not of saved the first link I posted I would not have been able to recover those links. I had tried several times using a search. I could get the commentary, but none of what Hesh had posted. It was very odd. That portion of the thread had just been chopped off.

Hope this helps with the others.

Hesh, you are most welcome, but you must know that it was a self-serving act. I was despite to get my handles on the missing tutorials. I finally had the time and the insight on how to go about finding them.

I'm glad to have helped, but Bob deserves the real thanks for putting this all together.
