Here's a website all about it. It is fish glue and it was a byproduct of the fishing industry in Gloucester, Mass. Captain Le Page was from PEI, and if you don't know that that means without looking it up, you've been south of the border too much. And I, for one, do remember the glass bottles. Mix Le Page's and flour and water paste, and you've got yourself a real meal...
