Personally, I've also built and have interest in drums and guitar amps as
well as guitars. I've done a number of drum kits and snares. I've posted
them all here, but like Brocks mentioned, the main focus (and MY main
focus) is the guitar.

I'd be highly interested in reading a violin section. Highly interested. But
I wouldn't be contributing, which is probably why it wouldn't fly too well.
Most of us would probably LOVE reading, but I'm sure the few
contributers would get bored after a while. It would be a neat experiment
though.
The trouble I see is that the topics revolve so quickly here at OLF that an unusual topic such as "how to make violin pegs" would probably get barried before it gets proper attention.

So I would suggest setting up a separate section, that would be great. But expect them to move slower. I KNOW it would attract some top notch violinmakers who just can't help themselves. And I also KNOW that guitarmakers would benefit from the violin related discussions also. So what do you think? I will post the first topic with a picture of my copy of a Stradivari tool for marking plate thickness... Once the section is made.
That is a very good point.  The guitar discussions do move very quickly.  Even some of the guitar topics get buried too quickly to get a foothold.  Once they are off the first page, they are pretty much done-for.  A slower moving topic would probably do better in it's own area.  I take back everything I said, before, about keeping them in the main discussion forum.  Forums like the CNC Forum seem to keep going, though, slowly.  I read them all, I just don't post there.  If it attracts new members, it would be great.  Everyone has something to contribute.

Sam, thanks.  The method I used to cut the soundhole is simple but far from ideal.  I'm still wrestling with that one.  I did it similiar to a rosette that I posted here once.  Basically used an apropriately (sp?) sized template attached to the waste portion of the soundhole with screws and  ran the shank of the dremel bit against the template.  See pic.  I think the ideal way would be with a pin router of some sort and I am tickling the idea of making one similiar to Mike Doolins thanks to a suggestion from a  fellow forum member.
