I played guitar for my daughter for this song. I had a friend play flute and her son is on cello. The mix is not great. You can hardly hear the cello and the flute sounds like it is in a cave fro the first stanza. The sound guy makes adjustments as we go and it gets better.
It was recorded live 12/16 for the mornings church service. Singing starts after about 90 seconds
Enjoy -

Very nice, Steve.  It is hard to mix with a whistle.  It was our biggest problem on our ensemble's CD's.  Whistles tend to take over the mix, and if the engineer doesn't hear it right, he can't control it.  The other problem is that our engineer was also a whistle player, and pulled it out more than I would have as a guitar player.

That is a beautiful piece, and the playing and singing is very good.

Live performances are so special, not always predictable though. You are right, where's the cello?

Great picking Steve.

I work the sound board on occasion. This was the first time that we had recorded anything other than the sermon. Each channel's input to the CD recorder is adjustable and always set at zero until recording.
The guy working the board did not know how to do it and neither did I. Incidentally, his wife was playing the flute and his son was on the cello. The were not happy with the mix either.
