Who do y'all use or recommend for Adirondack spruce soundboards?

Thanks.

Another vote for Zootman (RC Tonewoods)- by the way we know something about what Uncle Bob has right now in stock - beautiful stuff!!!!  And it won't last long now that the word is out - don't miss out......

John Griffin @ Old Standard or Randy Lucas...

Go straight to the source.  Why buy your wood from a middle man?

Thanks! I thought I remembered that there were a couple of main suppliers out there a lot of folks used.

Anybody have experience with the Old Standard common or excellent grade stuff?

[ edit :: we have advertisers here. Talking about a source is one thing. Posting their prices is quite another. If you are looking for John's stuff, visit his web site. ]

Ooooh, editing by a moderator...

It's not just for the MIMF anymore.

Boucher...Boucher??

Any relation to Boucher Guitars in Quebec??  They seem to use a lot of Adi.

Just Curious.

See...You can learn something new everyday!!

I went on the Boucher Guitar site and they have a few shots of them processing spruce. No matter how may time you see the process it's still so cool to see where it all starts.

Thanks for the contacts. I'll file them away.

Sorry about the above post, guys. It was realized after the fact, but I couldn't take it back. I would've posted an apology this morning, but I was hoping by just letting it pass, we could avoid folks making a big deal of the sponsorship thing.

Bottom line, I agree with you. Thanks for deleting it.

You shouldn't have to apologize. I thought the biggest complaint regarding the MIMF was that we couldn't post prices and links and everyone is so happy here that we can. Yet you posted prices and down they came. A shame...

Welcome to the new and improved... <bg>

John Griffin really knows how to cut the wood unlike many other guys I've
seen and dealt with. His stuff ranges in price, but the sets that are $120-
$400 are very nice....better than I've seen anywhere else. The upper end
very much so. We are getting quite a bit of our spruce from him now a
days.

Used to get lots of red elsewhere, but the runout was so bad, and some of it
was questionable that it was even red..looked very much like white spruce.

Once again, I agree with the moderators. It's not about the prices. Discussion of vendors is not discouraged. Links are never discouraged. Posting the price sheet directly on this page was just crossing that fine line. It's about respecting those who invest their resources to sponsor the OLF, that's all. My feelings aren't hurt in the least.

This was the off-topic discussion I had hoped to avoid. Back on subject...

Please, everyone else honor that, too. Back on subject....
