I was adopted by a Montana cowboy (100% Norwegian) when I was two or three. Hearing this reminds me of my times on my grandparents ranch 40 somthing years ago. Would love to hear a Hardanger in the mix, Grandpa played one.

Sounds great on the bouzouki by itself though, I just sort of heard grandpa.

Yep! I saw it a month ago when Arnt first posted it. The Bouzouki sounds great.

Not being familiar with the instrument, I was wondering what the tunings of the strings were.

I love this piece. Brilliant playing, and beautiful zouk.

It sounds in tone so similar to my cittern- it's great having double lined-calluses on the fingers instead of single ones. The alternate tuning is fun to experiment with too.

What was the woods on your bouzouki, Arnt?

Sam, the woods are Italian spruce for the top, EIR back and sides and a mahogany neck.

Andreas told me this video was an ‘on the spur of the moment’ thing that happened one afternoon in a Bergen back alley; single camera, single mic a bit too far away, one shot. I’m glad they did not use the Fishman soundhole pickup he put on it though, I really don’t care too much for the sound of those even if they work OK in a live setting with more instruments.
