Anyone planning to attend (as builder or buyer)?
The new directors introduced themselves to me at Healdsburg, and seemed
very friendly.
The recent e-mail I recieved had broken links and some errors, as well as
limited information, considering the November deadline looming.
Any thoughts?

Hi Charles,

Brock and I will be showing our guitars there.
I am looking forward to it!

Got my plane tickets today, and our hotel rooms last week!

I'll be in Hobart, Tasmania teaching seven students how to make Army/Navy-style mandolins...and hanging out with my girlfriend.

Lance K and I booked at the Nash hotel (one of the small boutique hotels).

That is one of the spring break weeks, so if you are going you better book a room now.

Charles,

I got my invite a few days ago and am planning on going. It'll be a quick trip for us, just one day on either side of the show. I'll probably just take a couple of guitars. They're going to have a separate vintage section, so I'm undecided on what I'll take.

We will be exhibiting there too. Broc, do you have a link to the Nash hotel? How far is it from the venue?

It is pretty close. It is just a couple of miles IIRC, and pretty close to the beach too.

How many instruments will you be bringing? I will be bringing either four or six depending on what I can get done in the shop between now and then.

the tables are 4' 6' and 8'

I signed up for a 6' table. I think 3 will be about as many as I can reasonably get on the table to display in a nice way.

That's good to know. I signed up for a 6' too. Now that I think about it, I think I'll just go with 4. They probably won't all be on the table at once.

I did a little measuring the other night and for a 4'table, you could probably fit 2 guitars nicely. Three would be a little crowded.

I'd love to go but have 9 orders to fill ASAP !
That means no time to make guitars for a show!

Have fun and take lots of pixs to show us all!

with Chuck and Grit I believe. I think the topic is inlay as art for collectors. Finally some real guitar action in my home turf. I have been waiting for this for years!

I'll be there, I just registered last night.

Since I'm flying two guitars is the most I can bring so the 4' table seemed more than enough.

Any consensus on the best Hotel?

Except for the PITA factor of lugging them through the airport, you can bring more that two. $80 per bag is the overage charge. Usually cheaper than shipping them.
We'll be at Miami. I hope it's as successful as it's being hyped as being.

I'd call it more of a perk than the reason...

Short answer... I don't know. Again, Lance and I are @ Hotel Nash.

However, when traveling I have had good luck finding deals on http://www.hotelreservationsnetwork.com

If the deal is not spectacular I usually just call the hotel directly so I don't have to pre pay the room. If it is a great deal I just pre pay it on the site.
