10/17 reduced price Sapele and Cocobolo appointment sets
I have more spiderwebbed coco, see wed. night posting
Thanks guys!

Hey guys, here is some stuff I put together, I hope some of you can use it. First off...

1 Cocobolo 4 piece back and sides. It measures 7 5/8 lower bout and 6 1/2 upper bout and is thicknessed to 1/8. It was joined with LMI white a year ago and the joint is fine. It will need a little more sanding on the back but will even out easily at .1. Very well quartered across the whole back and sides. Pictured are two sets of sides. The inner is sanded to .06 (Double sides) and is 4 x 30 1/2. The outside is 4 x 34 and is .15. The piece at the top is a cutoff from the board all of these were cut from and it is 4 x 13 3/4 x 3/4. From this you could get headstock, bridge, and wings if you wanted to make it a little wider. If you need a close up of the joints, let me know.

$100 with your choice of sides, $120 for both sets.
status: available

Here is another Cocobolo 4 piece back. This has some of the best Coco figure I have seen. It is a little small, but would make a nice parlor. The piece at the top is another cutoff and would easily make wings so this set could be an OM. As it is backs measure 7-5 x 21 x .110 smooth sanded. Sides are 3 15/16 x 35 and .1. The backs of the sides are rough sanded at 80 grit. The extra piece at the top measures 2-3 x 10 x 3/8. Back plates joined with Smith all wood epoxy.

$120
status: sold

Next up are two matching moonscape Sapele Jumbo size sets. Both are sawn from the same board and are almost exactly the same. Backs and sides also from the same board. They measure 8 3/4 x 23 x 1/8. Sides are 5 1/2 x 37. Also included with each set is a half a back(8 3/4 x 11) and half a side (5 1/2 x 18). With these you should be able to get a rosette blank and a front and back headstock blank. These are not sanded but are thicker than the sanded plates.

reduced price $175
status set 1: available
status set 2: available

only 1 set shown, they are the same.

Next are a lot of appointment sets. Included in each is 1 fingerboard, 1 bridge blank, 1 bookmatched headstock and 1 binding billet. All are perfectly matching and quartersawn. The binding billets are 1 x 1/4 x at least 33. They are quartered on the 1/4 face. I left them whole in case you want to glue up side purfling before slicing them. If you want them sliced, I will do that for you no problem. You should be able to get 6 slices from each.

First up are three spiderwebbed cocobolo sets
Fingerboard: 2 11/16 x 21 x .275
bridge: 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 x 7/16
headstock(smallest): 4 x 10 x 1/8
binding: 1/4 x 1 x 39

$30
Status set left: sold
Status set middle: sold
Status set right: sold

2 more Cocobolo sets, perfectly quartered and straight grain. Set on the right shows the color once oxidized. the lighter color is freshly cut.
Fingerboard: 2 3/4 x 20 x .275
bridge: 2 3/4 x 7 3/4 x 3/8+
headstock: 5 x 8 1/2 x 1/8
binding: 1/4 x 1 x 36

reduced price $20
Status set left: available
Status set right: available

Next up is 1 set of Bois de Rose
Fingerboard: 2 1/2 x 20 x .275
bridge: 2 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 7/16
headstock: 5 x 8 1/2
binding: 13/16 x 1/4 x 33 **You can still get 6 strips from 13/16 but you have to cut perfectly, 4 is a sure bet

$30
Status: available

Last are two more Cocobolo sets. Off quarter all the way across and less of a perfect match to the binding, though sooo close. Really nice color and figure. A normal size fingerboard with binding will cut out all of the knots
Fingerboard: 3 1/2 x 20
bridge: 3 x 10 x 3/8+
headstock: 7 x 9 x 1/8
binding: 1/4 x 1 x 33

reduced price $20
Status set left: available
Status set right: available

All prices include safe packaging. Actual shipping charges will be added on. I will send USPS for overseas shipments. Domestic will probably be UPS. I have some lightly curly Maccassar ebony appointment sets also, but without bridges. If anyone is interested in those, let me know. I am willing to trade for a couple of things:

-really nice tops
-an electric bending pipe
-a big caliper like Hesh is sellswapping
-Brazilian or dark Madrose binding strips

Thanks!

Actually, Brock, Do you still have some of the Madrose bass fb's? I have a bunch of unmatched ones and if we can make some sets out of what we have maybe a trade would be better? Let me know. I have three or four with super figure. If anyone else has some extras too, speak up!

Thanks,

Thanks,

How much for the bending pipe?  Is it one of the oblong shaped ones with the controller?

Hey guys,

I updated the page and lowered some prices. The quilted Sapele sets are now $175. I think it is a good deal, they are really nice. I also dug out some more spider webbed Cocobolo. Larkim and Brock get first shot at sets and S. Hlasnick gets first shot at appointment sets. I will have one sister set to the really fancy one shown in the main thread(that Brock snagged) and then 1 set cut from these boards. They will both be $120. The sister set is almost exactly the same and the set cut from these boards may have a slightly larger back:

Kim and Brock, let me know if you are still interested and if not, anyone else can grab them. I want someone to be pretty sure they would want the set before I cut into the board. Of course you can change your mind after. I should have 2 appointment sets, you can reserve those too on approval. Thanks everybody!
Burton

Hi Peter,

They are 8 3/4 x 23 for the backs and 5 1/2 x 37 for the sides. They come with half a back and half a side extra for rosettes, headstock plates etc... They are thicknessed to 100grit at just over 1/8. I am happy to answer any other questions.

Thanks Burton,

I will take the sister to Brock's set, the slightly larger back will come in handy.

Again, thanks very much for keeping me in mind.

Cheers

Hey Burton,

If you can throw in an extra bit for wings I would appreciate it, and would also like to reserve an appointments pack on app as well.

Thanks M8

Pakhan,

The set at the top of the page is still available. It has really great color and figure in the middle and the tap is really nice. Here is a close up of the sides for refererence, the grain is nice and tight.

I won't have any more super spiderwebbed sets, though.
