Please stop the madness!!!

Please DO NOT start more than one thread and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT{/b] delete/remove any of the items in your threads.

Otherwise it is a nightmare for us to keep track of who sold what.

This swap meet is going very well, but please take it easy on us.

Thanks for understanding.

I goofed and deleted some items that I sold Broc. I am keeping track on paper and will make sure that I give you the grand total of my sales so y'all can bill me accordingly. Sorry.

Is it okay to remove pics but leave the items and price paid?

That is what I'm doing to simplify the thread.

Sorry Brock,
I removed sold items because I thought that was a good thing.
I am keeping track of sales and of course will pay the percentage on what I sold.

Yeah, that is cool... as long as the transactions are in place that is great.

thanks Bruce.

Brock-

I have just been deleting the pics/marking items sold after they sell and keeping the prices and descriptions. This swap meet has been better than the last one. I'll try to make it as easy on you as possible though - one thread and no deleting sold items. Thanks again for doing this for everyone - you have no idea the amount of stuff I've accumulated in 6 years that I'm going to try to sell in the next week. It should net both of us some nice $$.

Peace-
John

Guilty!

Sorry about that Brock...I thought it would be easier to keep track of
stuff by species (and I'm working on only 3...) than to stuff
everything in a single thread.  I can see it how it would be more
work for you.

Someone (can't remember who) did make a "Table of Contents" sort of
list in the first post, then updated it frequently and that made it
easier to navigate his particular thread.

I am guilty also...

It is becoming a nightmare to figure out when someone adds new stuff to their site. I have been looking for a few items, and only find out they have been added and then sold before I even knew they were added.

A new thread for new items would be MOST beneficial to all.

Yes, I agree. I mostly stopped looking them over. I hope I didn't miss much.

I usually don't comlain, at least without offering a suggestion. So I offer a praise instead.

I'm grateful for all the guys offering great items at ood prices. I couldn't really afford to buy anythng (but I DID, thanks BD!) Who can pass up the deals.

My only wish was that I had more time to pore over all the good stuff on the ever changing threads and all their inefficiencies.

Maybe we need to do a phase 2 or something similar. Its very hard now to see whats available with so many pages and threads and still 5 days to go.

Just a suggestion

Personally.. and this just might be the way I like to see the threads organized... but I like to see new items inserted in the middle of the thread. Not back at the top.

That way I know that they haven't already been bought...

but seeing that we are knee deep into this one... I don't think there is much point in trying to standardize now. This is just good stuff to remember for the next one...

Just help me make it easy to account for everything. I can be flexible, but some of this looks really confusing.

This is like the floor of the NYSE... It is next to impossible to follow all of it.

How do you change the title of your post without changing all of the post titles? I see people doing it, but I cant figure it out.

Perhaps this would help if they just added something different to the title of the post like "More items added" or something like that... maybe "what is left" or "update thursday night" or...

I agree though, they need to be added in the middle of the post and not on the first post. When you get into multiple pages of replies, this gets slow and highly confusing. I'm sure it bogs down the server as well...

I do not get a title window when I post a reply to a thread.  I think others don't either.  Obviously some do.

I agree the threads become tough to deal with. This time as opposed to the last swap has been 100000%% better because we have the ability to edit(at least we can note items as sold) .

I am not a seller, but I can say that as a buyer Larry Davies of Gallery seems to have this working well. You list your new items and images at the very end of the thread. You then step back and let the seagulls swoop. Next day, acknowledge what sold, mention what did not and re-list any new stuff at the end of the thread, and so it goes.

Also, and this is for Brock, seeing that this is an International forum, and a terrific one at that, would it be difficult to insert a count down applet for the start time which coincides with the OLF post time?? I am across what zone it all happens at now, but miscalculated the start by a couple of hours. My own stupid, but it is easy to get caught and if you had a countdown applet which showed how long to go, it would make it much easier for new comers.

Great Meet, thank you all.

Kim the incorrigible.

Brock what is official closing time Thursday for the swap meet and what are the protocols? Will the edit button continue to function so we can note sold items and acknowledgements?

Hats off to you for doing this!!!!!

Don.. you only had 10 days to get in on the action?

Larry.. I suppose I can leave it so sellers can still edit their posts if that would be helpful.

I have a bit of a family drama playing out this week so it is hard to say with any precision when I will be able to end this... but I am thinking 9PM. How does that sound for everyone. That let's some of the international guys have one last shot at this.

Any opinions are welcomed.
