I'm thinking about Zirocote bindings on my next build.
Am I crazy?

Has anyone tried it? Does anyone sell them?
I've search and can not find any.
I'm thinking it might not be a good choice of wood for bindings.

Done ziricote lots of times - one of my faves to use, dark like ebony, but with character. If you can get it right on the quarter, the cross grain fleck is really pretty

How many that were not well quartered have you broke. I just seems to me (but then again I have not tied yet) you can get very similar look with Mayl. Ebony with less brittleness

Agreed with above post Michael ... with ziricote it doenst seem to matter as to the cut, in binding size it bends like butter for me too.

I was going to use it anyway, but I'm sure glad to read that it is easy to use for binding. Easy is a big improvement over difficult!
