Outstanding Steve!!! That is going to be one killer axe! That wood really is to die for! Those mitters are flawless and air-tight too!

I'm very thankful for your shot on binding the headstock with rope and the dowel pins.... Well done sir! Another way of skinning that cat, I guess. Did you ever try using just binding tape (LMI-Stew-Mac)? Less clean-up with the rope, I guess...

Did you use a gramil or a dremel/router to cut out the channel on the headstock?

Thanks, Alain.
Answers: I use LMI's binding tape all the time. Except on this one application. That "S" curve in the headstock binding is pretty difficult to pull into submission, so the rope comes out to get it tight.

To cut the channel on the headstock, I used a Dremel w/ one of Stew-Mac's 3/32" carbide cutters. Though I find this combination too flimsy to do the binding channels on the body, it is perfect for the headstock.

Thanks again,

Steve

That's lookin' awesome Steve!! I have a couple sets from Tim as well that I am saving for that 'Special' guitar. Like yours, it will have a Lutz top!

Your work remains impeccable!! Looking forward to more pics.

Shane

Many thanks, Shane!
As you know, the eye drifts to all the pretty zoot that we have on hand for backs/sides. But the real heart of the beast is that top. This piece of Lutz promises to deliver the goods, and as a plus, is really gorgeous in its own right. I was happy to pair it with Tim's Tiger Myrtle, and glad to build an all OLF guitar.
Many thanks for your contribution to this project!

Report on sound coming (hopefully) pronto.

Steve

Wow Steve! That's a fine looking guitar.

That Tiger Myrtle couldn't have gone to a better place. You certainly did it justice!

Very nice!!!!!

Many thanks, Blain.
I could wish that ALL Tiger Myrtle would come to this place. But then, what would Don do?
And where would I sleep?

Steve
