Good job, man! I think you're off to a good start. I think most people will
tell you that they like it, so I just want to offer some suggestions that I
think will make it better for you.

The first is just a general thing for most, if not all, the luthier sites I've
seen. A guitar communicates visually and aurally, and a good design
would let them communicate as clearly as they possibly could...and that's
not through text.      

When I clicked on guitars, I got a page of text with two links. The audio
files were all broken links for me (a fast fix by checking their link
properties, don't sweat it). When I clicked on the link for pics, it took me
to another page of text. Can you imagine any better solutions?

This suggestion is just a generic one. The luthier who decides to put up
homemade videos of someone playing their guitar in their natural
environement, on the couch or something, will be great. Maybe
practicing in their space. Mix it up with more formal pics and you've got
something great going.

On the image pages, I don't think your stronger pics are the first ones I
see.

On the Camatillo SJ page, I'd make the second pic first, third pic second,
first pic third, and the last pic where you currently have it.

On the Limba SJ page, I'd remove the first two pics, flip the last pic 180
degrees and make it third, then make the pic of the neck last.

Koa/redwood is nicely layed out, but the fourth pic down seems a little
redundant and I'd take it out.

Acacia/blackwood is good.

Those are my thoughts, Peter. I hope some of them may be of use!

I asked Lance to delete that last statement. I was referring to wanting to
mention teaching styles demonstrated by some of the characters in
scripture and meant there's no way I could bring them up without people
taking it in the wrong direction. I wasn't making a statement about faith
and values that people have.

Great site! A warm, inviting site, with plenty of visual stimulation.

Somtimes web designers often pack too much information into one page, but you have the balance just right. I really like it.

But IMO, I would like to see more technical info, for example, scale length. The type of client you are advertising to is the advanced guitar player who needs to know the finer details. Will the nut width/neck profile be according to the player's needs? I think this needs to be clarified on the site.

All in all it's a great site!!

Very nice and clean Peter.
I like how it's simple but gets the message across. Too many sites lose a lot in "over information".

I am having my website redone as well this week. It seems like every four years or so it's needed.

WHen I started my web site, it was just there to put up a "temporary" place holder.... that has changed and so has my business. I'm in need of a makeover also and will have some professional pictures taken of my current builds to go on the new web site.

I really like the way you set the page up with the menu at the top.

Very nice, simple site. It's much better than the average in that respect. Good color scheme except that visited links nearly disappear on my laptop screen.

More importantly, it loads fast and the navigation makes sense.

I'd recommend the following mods:

1. Add a single representative photo to each of the guitar pages. The gallery link is nice, but you want people to immediately see that they are on the right track. Make sure the picture shows the primary characteristics of the model, and if possible in a single photo, what makes it different from the other models.

2. Sam is right. You need more tech specs.

3. Proofread the site and be very picky about it. If grammar, punctuation and spelling aren't your strong points, then print out the pages and find someone to mark them up for you.

4. Raise your base price.

That's my 61 cents (two cents adjusted for inflation and taxes).
