Well, yes I do realize real luthiers only deal in wood but I also do know many of us here love electricity as well. So, my fellow repair and builder friends, where do you source great sounding and reasonably priced P-Bass pickups? My fantastic garage pickup winder does J, hums, S and T styles, but no P style, and I'm looking hard to find a source to have those pickups made to my specs. Any ideas? Canada-based would be a plus, but I don't really mind. I used to deal with a Russia-based winder in the pre-COVID and pre-Ukraine world, so… Thanks friends! Pierre Guitares Torvisse |

You can still find Bill Lawrence P-bass units for $55 and free shipping if you are willing to look and wait. |

What’s your budget? I’ve never been disappointed in anything out of Jason Lollar’s shop. |

I'm looking for great value mainly for classic-style (let's say vintage) builds. I might just as well just use off-the-shelf commercially available units, and that's what I've been doing for my P-bass builds, but what I'm after really is a winder doing great pickups at an OEM price to me. I have my own recipes that I'm used to so I can recommend specific models to my customers, and I like having my logo etched on them as well so that would be a plus too. I already have a full line for hums, J, S and T styles, but there's this gaping hole for the P style… Pierre Guitares Torvisse |

You can't go wrong with Lollar's or Fralin's. Both of these guys set the benchmark. I just did a PJ bass and went with he Fralin's. |
