If no one with experience with this repair offers an answer, I suggest giving Martin a call. A CALL not an email (otherwise known as a note in a bottle). |

I did one a couple years back. It was the black topped one that looked like the surface of an Ovation roundback... I used a fresh bottle of Loctite gel C/A glue to glue it back on the top. It fumes badly, so tape around the area well before clamping up. Work fast... I'll see if I can dig up my old thread about this. |

I also repaired one with gel CA but I told the owner that it might fail again in the future. It hasn't come back but that doesn't mean anything. |

Loctite gel CA. The bottle is a pump bottle, and there is just enough glue in there to do the job. |

How do you clean up CA squeeze out? |

Mask off the top real carefully. A feature of c/a is it's on a one-way trip, no going back and fixing anything. I don't think I'd try to chemically remove squeezeout, and I sure don't want to try to chip it out. Just don't put yourself in a position to get the problem. If that's sounding too sporty, time to pay a professional. |

I've never tried to glue a bridge or anything like that with the gel stuff, so perhaps that would be fine, but in other applications I have had thin CA end up wicking under masking tape which was not so fun to clean up. |
