Wow that's taking it further than I've ever seen before! Not into volutes myself but variety is nice to see. |

Well... that's interesting. Seems like he was channeling some pre-20th century design features with the looks and bling of it |

Very elaberate. Nicely done. May not be for everyone, but obviously a lot of work went into that. Could we see the rest of the guitar? |

That's different. A lot of work indeed, with those recessed tuners. It might be the angle of the photo, but the curve into the volute from the neck shaft appears to start just south of the nut which would make thumb placement for some chords like jazz fingerings of F7 or Fmaj7 a bit cramped, at least for me. I wonder if this is supposed to be an aesthetic feature, or a structural enhancement, or.... |

I wonder if this is supposed to be an aesthetic feature, or a structural enhancement, or.... Definitely a backstop for the first position. A neck this heavy could be multifunctional. You could easily put one over the centerfield wall, lever your car out of a ditch, defend yourself in a bar fight,.etc. No simple guitar stand fall is going to take the head off. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the truss rod is utterly powerless against the will of the Rosewood ( even after you make the special length tool to reach it ). |
