Post subject:  Tuners for Martin 00-18C

I unfortunately have to replace the tuners on my old Martin classical guitar 00-18C. What is the closest replacement available ? And who sells them ? Thank you.

I don't have an answer for you for classical tuners other than measure yours carefully and try to match specs on various manufacturers web sites. One minor warning - I recently replaced the tuners on a 1930 Martin 0-17 (steel string slot head). The tuners that were on it had the shaft/knob towards the body from the gear which is backwards from the way most steel string tuners are set up. I used the StewMac golden age replacements - when I put them on the way the originals were they turned backwards (duh). I did mount them with the shafts away from the body which meant that the holes and imprint on the wood didn't line up.
