Hi there
I have to unmount my Ibanez rg321(bolt on neck) to refresh the paint. Is there something special to do with the neck? Without the strings tension, is there any risk to break or curved the neck? I need maybe one week to do what i want with the body painting. I want to make sure the neck's gonna be ok when i rebuilt the guitar! Any advice? Or i can let the neck in a towel for one week whitout any special care?

5th and 6th pics are after applied the wood stain 2 times. maybe another shot, not sure at this moment...
This is what i use, Saman water base wood stain ''Antique Walnut'' and for the varnish i'm gonna use Circa 1850 Tung Oil for two reasons, 1st i don't want a too flashy glossy finish, and 2nd some family members are asthmatic and i can't use a strong smelling varnish. It's starting to be cold here in Montreal so i can't do this outside and i don't have a garage or something like that. i have to wait 24 houres between Tung oil applications to let it dry perfectly. Sanding with a 600 grade between each applications. i'm gonna do it 2-4 times depending of the look once dry.

It's the first time doing this, and i start to be proud of the result until now! i'm gonna be happy to play it and show the result to my musician friends without much shame lollll. Start to be a real passion!
