The latest headstock repair needed to be color matched. An automotive Dupli-Color was the only thing I could find that came close. Shot a couple of coats of it and then shot several coats of clear poly, sanding between coats. The clear started to loosen. I even used an old eraser shield to just flake it off. So now I'm looking at either buffing the color or getting some clear acrylic lacquer to shoot.

I just wondered if anyone had ever used the Dupli-Color and buffed it for a final finish with out the clear?

Some single stages can be buffed, others may not. As a general rule, any single stage with metallic cannot be buffed. Solid colors may sometimes be leveled and buffed.

Thanks Brian. This has some small flake in it, so I guess I'll be getting some clear.
