I have a Takamine GS330S with a bridge that needs to be re-glued. It came to me with a replacement fit bridge ordered form AllParts. This model has a pinless style bridge.

I have watched lots of videos and read books/articles about gluing bridges, and I have noticed that people will often use the two E hole pins for realignment.

How can I re-align a bridge that has no pins? Has anyone ever replaced one of these? Some guidance would be much appreciated.

I use several layers of masking tape to establish the front edge, and the ends [side to side]. Then careful clamping.

A couple of small (1/16 or less) locating holes at each end of the saddle slot will do the trick. Use the shank of the drill bit as the pin, be sure to apply some wax to it for easy removal.

I second Jim's process. I use the same with classical bridges, and just use toothpicks as my pins/plugs.

+1 for the locating holes within the saddle slot.
I hadn't thought to wax the pins to make them easy to remove - and easier to slide the bridge on to them. Thanks for the tip Jim.

I just use masking tape as well. If you use HHG or high tack fish glue then you will not have to worry so much about slippage when clamping. The tape will help with that if you use Titebond but just be careful.
