Post subject:  August Pollmann mandoline guitar??

I received 2 interesting restorations/repairs in my shop yesterday. The photos are attached. One is a bowlback mandolin with the neck severed. The other is an August Pollmann mandoline guitar. I am curious if anyone has any knowledge of August Pollmann and the vintage value of his instruments and any knowledge of mandoline guitars in general. I've never heard of any instruments of this kind. Are there other builders of "Mandoline Guitars?" There is a website (http://www.augustpollmann.com/) but the links on the site don't seem to work. Other than that I can't find any information on mandoline guitars. hmm any thoughts? idunno Thanks!

We have one of those mandoline guitars hanging around the shop somewhere, I think. It's been put aside because, although it's in pretty good shape, it probably can't be sold for as much as it would cost to set up and make really playable.

They date from late 19th century and very early 20th. Mostly we see the five string banjo version. They're kinda cute and make a good banjo player's novelty instrument. With their lower tension, they often be reasonably playable.
