Hi, I want to build a Martin style neck,with the headstock bridle/birds beak joint ,and the ice cream cone heel.I haven't found any measurements on the net.Can someone please give measurements,or tell me of anywhere that I can get the information.Thanks. |

John Greven has some info on his website and Frank Ford has an article on repairing them with photos. IMHO it is not a VG joint. |

thanks,both articles,you mentioned are helpful,but there are no measurements.....Will have to guess. Wanted to make a period correct Martin for myself. Can't afford ,and would anyway refuse to pay the silly money. Have all the materials saved from old guitars over the years.Thought it would be fun. |

Shouldn't be too hard if you are inventive. I've had to guess at Larson, Oscar Schmidt and Holzapfel instruments for years because there is no information. Make tight joints and use hot hide glue for the best strength. Good luck! |
