Not off topic at all... People had suggested that and personally i decided against it because of the future repair concerns over not having bare wood available to glue to. Not sure that was the best decision but then again, had i been more aware of the humidity issue i would not likely have had the problems i did. I was used to my 40 + year old yamaha that has been all over the place on campouts and in the rain and sun and all sorts of weather and no drastic issues... so i was spoiled.

After all the rework i am mostly happy (Could have done a better job on the finish) but i got to a point were i don't see the cracks and hopefully with an ounce of brain i can prevent more issues.

ask me again in 10 years whether i'd use it again...
