Congratulations, Todd and Filippo!

And well done to everyone else who participated too. I think the bar was raised quite a bit this time around, and everyone did a great job. Congratulations!

Congradulations to Todd and fillipo! And to everyone else in te completion. You all did fantastic work. And really everyone got a fantastic prize just for participating, a spectacular one of a kind instrument. I would take any one of those fine instruments over a chisel any day, even though it is a super sweet chisel. [clap]

Big thank you to Phillip for providing such an excellent carrot to inspire the creativity displayed in each build. It's these contests that have nudged me out into the garage for #1.

Congratulations to the boys from Maryland and a big thank you to our sponsor. You can’t really say enough about how cool the prize is! This was a great time for so many reasons. Thanks to all who organized, participated and watched along the way!

Congrats to Todd and Fillipo as well. Gotta say if the chisel was in the challenge, it might have carried the day ;) Thanks Phillip for sponsoring this effort, I really enjoyed participating.

Congrats guys. I think for the next challenge we should make it no limit but only have 60 days to build.

Awe darn.. Can we extend the voting for another week? laughing6-hehe

Congratulations Todd and Fillipo, beautiful instruments there and the competition was a lot of fun. Good God the drama was well worth it :)

Thanks for every one who voted, and not just for my entry though I do appreciate it. I didn't know what to expect with this whole thing and I really am humbled by the experience. I also plan to build some more of these barn oak guitars. The one I built is a keeper. It will have a lot of sentimental value as my wife and I have built furniture from this old barn and this is the last year we will be living in this place after 13 years.

Anyway I was really impressed by all the instruments and I can see how hard it was to vote. I'm still not sure which one is my favorite. I love the octave mando's and will think about building one of those some day. Bryan's entry has inspired me to build a mandolin as my next project. Marcus's build from a tree in his back yard was quite impressive and Dennisk's build may actually inspire me to try even the simplest inlay, something I gave up because of the difficulty a long time ago. I was leaning mostly toward jaybirds build being that he also based his on a C Bruno design like mine and his sounded really great I thought.

And the list goes on, they are all beautiful instruments and we as the builders are all lucky to have them for the rest of our lives, or make a few bucks selling them whatever works.

So who gets the chisel? Is it going to come down to the king solomon splitting of the child decisions? laughing6-hehe

Congrats guys, that was well-deserved. Todd...like you need another chisel!

I'd be all for buying one of those beautiful chisels just to have it in my highly limited collection. Oh heck, I'd want to use the thing!

Peter...my boatbuilding buds all said you need to keep building instruments...you'll starve slower than if you just do boats. Nice guys.
