Hi there, I'm just a very new builder from NZ and on my second guitar at the moment, I was curious as to what size hole people drill for a Waverly slotted peghead tuning machine? The rollers are 6.32mm but I wasn't sure whether to drill a 6.5mm hole so the rollers still turn easily or drill a 6.3mm hole which would be tight?
Cheers guys

Hey Michael I don't have an answer but StewMac is legendary for putting excellent detail level specs on their web site. You can always do dummy installs on scrap too trying out the different hole sizes too.

Didn't want your post ignored and I also wanted to welcome you to the OLF!

Thanks very much for your help much appreciated!
Also thank you for taking the time to welcome me.
I will learn a lot from this site as I still have a lot to learn haha! Here are a couple of shots of my newest build,(second guitar) ancient kauri whitebait figure, sinker redwood top and ziricote fret board and bridge and snake wood binding and arm bevel to go with the Waverly tuning machines, I have also been lucky enough to get my hands on some Woolly mammoth bridge pins and saddle!
I drilled a 1/4 " hole for the tuners but it seems very tight!

Cheers
