Finally finished my first guitar. I had originally planed on building a kit, but knew I'd get more satisfaction building more or less from the ground up. I learned a lot, so when I build one for my wife, it should go easier. Of course, there were some flubs along the way. The biggest was making my radius dishes based on a 28' and 30' diameter rather then a radius. But, in the end it is without a doubt the best sounding guitar I've ever owned.

I'd really like to thank all the posters on this forum for the wealth of information that held make this build possible.

That's fine work! What did you use for your finish?

The finish is a french polish. Another thing I've never done before. I mixed shellac flakes with Everclear to make the shellac, then had a very enjoyable time applying the finish. I used the pumice method to fill the pores.

Very nice looking guitar. That's a cool looking backstrip and it looks like there's something interesting going on with the end graft. Do you have a close up photo of those?

Sorry for the delay guys, I just got out of the hospital today, I'll take some photos of the end graft for J. It's just a piece of red oak, but some rosewood got into the pores and make it look like stitches.
