A few months ago I finished this 12 fret Brazilian Rosewood guitar and had it sitting on my bench when some stored wood and a telecaster blank fell on it from a shelf above. I posted pics and someone suggested documenting the repair of it, so here it is: Hopefully I've learned my lesson about shop clutter. |

Here's some more: More later. (it's almost done now.) removing the snakewood binding was a real ordeal, and an accomplishment I was unsure of being able to do. |

Not exactly what I would call a "fun" process. I would much prefer playing the original. |

Looks like I unwittingly loaded those photos in reverse order. That neck was really well set I must say. Murphy's law: the neck you set perfectly will be the one you must remove because something will happen to break the top... My re set neck was at a bit too much of an angel, making a hump I had to sand down after removing a few more frets. I think it's almost there. I flooded certain areas with CA glue to take care of some wrinkles, and had to re-do an abalone inlay. Persistence pays off. |
