If you're asking how to adjust your neck angle, here's a tutorial on how to go about it. If you've got a router jig for cutting your tenon, you can adjust it and try again. Don't take too much off. Because of geometry and math and stuff, adjustments you make at the heel are significantly amplified at the bridge. http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/view ... t=15022%22 Mike |

I'm not particularly experienced, but basically what Mike said. If you've got the time, it might even pay of to try the adjustment to the neck join by hand as opposed to a router. That said, there is risk of mucking it up by hand too, so i'd say its an equal call between fixing your problem by hand (chisel and sanding stick) or just re-cutting it very slightly with router + jig. |

You are going to have to adjust the angle of the heel (sharp chisel) and possibly thin the fingerboard extension. Kevin Looker |

+1 for the Hesh tutorial that Mike posted. That method works well. You have a ways to go so be patient. Your bridge location will change some. From you picture it looks like you FB extension is not far off the top. That may be a problem as you lower the neck angle. You may have to tapper that. |

Frans: You might get extra advise in the Guitar Building Forum section. Also I assume you have realized by now that getting the neck angle right has a lot to do with building the body. You now have too much downward slope on the top from the sound hole to where the neck connects. The advise you have already got will set you straight. Check out John Hall's videos, think he has one on dealing with this problem during body construction. Tom |
