This one is a real looker, even if I do say so myself. Made from a orphan guitar back of Ambrosia Maple. The prettiest set I've ever seen. Paired up with an Ancient Spruce soundboard. Trim in ebony and Honduran Rosewood. Hipshot tuners and a K&K Aloha Twin installed. And yes, it's a lefty. Another beauty Allen! Maybe consider a pic for your use of this one and the TM uke in the other thread? I have a hinch that they would look very cool together. |

Yes, this is some of the 3000 year old spruce. I've used it a fair bit now, and have just a few sets left. |

Is that the natural color for the spruce? Dang! It almost looks like Wenge or something. Your rosettes are just it! No question! |

Allen, I think one of the sweetest touches is the heel cap, inlaid back along the back center seam. That is pure art. I must say I was rather surprised to see the Imperial tuner buttons on this instrument. They don't look out of proportion. Are they full size? Or do you have a source for smaller Imperial buttons? Very nice! |

That is the natural color of the Spruce. It was unearth a couple of years ago. Buried under a landslide and carbon dated to be 3000 years old. I have pieces that are either Blue / Black or Red / Black. These are the only Imperial style tuners I've ever used. They are from Hipshot. Couldn't say if they are slightly smaller or not. They are only suitable on a tenor or larger size instrument though. |
