My Burl Tele is done! Coolabah Burl - resin body, Maple neck Rosewood fretboard, Golden Age pickups. The burl is heavy (and I mean, heavy like the heaviest Les Pauls heavy) but with a good strap (or sitting down) it is workable. I'll attempt to get something recorded in the next few days. Wow, Martin, that is great! Do you finish right over the resin? |

Barry Daniels wrote: Wow, Martin, that is great! Do you finish right over the resin? Thanks Barry, yes, the Nitro goes straight over the resin and the burl. The challenge is that you want a very smooth finish on the resin to get the best clear result but if it is too smooth the Nitro can peel off. I sanded the body to 1200 but had to come back to 800 to get it right. |

I love that you can see the spikes of the burl, but you don't have to feel them. |
