So I'm working on my first project. I started with a base coat, followed by a couple of coats of primer and blue rusto spray paint, followed by miniwax Nitro lacquer from a rattle can. As I was wet sanding, I went through the lacquer and paint along some of the contours. What would be the best way to fix this?. The areas are very small but I would like to fix them the right way. Should I sand through the whole thing or is there a goodbye aye to do small touch ups? Thanks! |

James, were all the products lacquer based? Is blue rusto lacquer? |

The rustoleum is Painters Touch ultra cover 2x enamel spray paint. |

You take a risk, IMO, to apply nitro over enamel. It can cause adhesion problems that might not show up for months. I know this the hard way. I'm not sure how risk-adverse you might be, so what to do now kind of hinges on that. |

Mr. Turner.... best not to mix finishes.... especially nitro with anything else. |

So should I sand everything back to wood? |

That would be my option. Sand back and use nitro base, colour and then clear over the top. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

I'd use stripper, but that's just me. |
