Post subject:  Birdseye Maple neck blanks?

I'm looking for a couple of really great birdseye maple neck blanks, for a Tele and Strat I'm building for myself.
Does anyone know any good sources for high quality material that won't want a small fortune for them?

Thanks.

Don't know how helpful this is but Keim Lumber in Charm OH has a lot of inventory at very reasonable prices. The down side is you need to go & cherry pick yourself because they don't know suitable guitar wood in terms of grain, cut, knots etc.

They have racks of "special guitar wood" but I'be found better pieces for less $$ with the regular wood.

They have a large showroom but you can ask to look at more wood in their warehouses.

It's huge and 99.9% Amish

www.gilmerwood.com

very kewl place to deal with, and since they are more of a lumberyard as opposed to a specialty supplier, their prices are very reasonable...see at least one neck stringer out of bird's eye there...

Yeah, I went to the Gilmer site last week, but I'm looking for something really spectacular, and anything remotely similar to that was already gobbled up.

I've never dealt with them before, but have had them bookmarked for a LONG time...

I'm betting a call might bring some results

http://curlymaplewood.com/BirdseyeMaple.html I've bought curly and birdseye from him and it is exactly as advertised. A new list comes out the last Friday of every month, it's helpful to get there right away before the offerings are cherrypicked too bad.
